Personality: Itachi is the hippie of the Uchiha family. Of course, in a family full of stiffs that could mean anything from 'he wears socks that don't match' to 'he's a member of a polygamist cult in Guam'. A vain person in all the ways that don't really matter, he brushes his teeth after eating anything--seriously, anything--and applies sunscreen religiously because god help him if he burns. He's a serious movie buff--one of those guys that knows everything about a movie before he even watches the damn thing--and appreciates Vietnam war era protest music. Dry humor--he thinks everyone is a moron. EVERYONE--and an above average (READ: child genius) intellect have given him a serious superiority complex that, though not always exercised, is probably going to cause him problems in the future.
Itachi has never been one for relationships since he was younger due to a "mistake" [see personal history] and mostly relies on heading to a bar and giving his full name to get a partner for the night if he feels the need, though he rarely does it.
He really, really, really doesn't like people in his apartment. Itachi has untreated OCD with mostly compulsive symptoms rather than obsessive, leading him to carefully measure where things are placed in his apartment and to catalog everything he owns [for example: movies go into disk binders by genre, series (if applicable)/title, and director--the actual cases are placed onto two different shelves by the same order].

History: A complete recluse when it comes to socializing, the extent of Itachi's personal life involves his regular correspondence with his little brother.
Until he was 16, Itachi was a very obedient son with full intentions of following in his father's footsteps in the business world.Fugaku pushed him into a sort of internship with a business partner who had taken interest in Itachi, knowing that it would guarantee an alliance between theircompeteing corporations. The man 'wooed' Itachi--if it can be called that--and they had a short relationship that, while completely consensual, ended badly for Itachi when he realized he was being used as a pawn by his father and a whore by the man who was old enough to be his father.
When he mentioned this to Fugaku, his father responded with: "Well, did you get the internship then?" That shattered the perfect image that he had built around his family and brought him to rebel in ever possible way. When his trust fund money was released to him at 18, he cut ties with his father and moved to Maui to attend the community college there where he has taken nothing but random liberal arts courses [mostly philosophy] for the past several years, knowing that his father is more than likely keeping tabs on what he does and just how much of a kick in the face it would be for the man to see him "wasting his potential".
As the Uchiha name is well-known and the business vast, his trust fund was several million dollars, 3 million of which were placed into CDs in various international banks under the name "Sasuke Uchiha" so that his younger brother who, after the things he did, would not be so lucky as to receive his money so easily and be able to cut ties. He keeps in regular contact withSasuke through email.
